Nothing is public unless you make it public. The only ways in are a project you invited someone to or a link you sent. Set a link to stop working in 7 or 30 days, turn it off whenever you like, and see how many people opened it and played it through.

Collabspot never re-encodes your audio. Upload a WAV and everyone you send it to hears that WAV, the same file that left your DAW, with no streaming compression squashing the transients you spent a week on. Up to 100 MB a version, enough for a five-minute 24-bit master.

A wanted ad says what you need and what the deal is: paid, a split, or unpaid. Attach the track if you want people to hear it.
Every ad has its own link. Put it on Instagram, in a WhatsApp group or a Discord, wherever the right people already are. Anyone can open it and hear the track. Answering takes a free account, and when you accept someone you are both in a shared project: every version in one place, with the chat next to it.
Sign the credit
When the track is done, everyone on it signs the credit. It only counts once all of you agree, so it is one worth showing. It sits on your profile, and any of you can take it down.
It becomes a record of who you have actually made music with, not just who you follow.

Start a relay and go first. Whoever is up downloads the latest version (and the stems, if you linked them), adds their part, uploads it and tags who goes next: someone on the project, anyone by artist name, or a mate by email. Nobody can upload out of turn, so nothing gets lost.

Questions, answered
- Do I need an account?
- Not to listen. Whoever you send a link to opens it, listens and leaves notes with nothing to sign up for. You need a free account to start a project or post an ad.
- Is there an app to download?
- No. Collabspot runs in your browser at app.collabspot.app, on a phone or a laptop. Add it to your home screen if you want an icon.
- Where is my audio stored?
- On our servers, so a link opens in any browser with nothing to install. The link is an unguessable address, it plays with no download button, and you can turn it off at any time. Nobody finds a track they were not sent.
- Can I get the files out?
- Yes. Anyone you add to a project as an editor can save any version as a file, and whoever uploads a version can attach a link to its stems. Somebody you only sent a link to gets a player, not a download button.
- Can more than two people work on one track?
- Yes. Invite as many people as the track needs. For a line of people each building on the last, start a relay: each person tags the next, and it tells them when it is their turn. To have everyone make their own take on one brief and vote on the best, start a beat battle. Each person approves a version for themselves, and it goes green when everyone has.
- Can I use it for unreleased material?
- Yes, that is what it is built for. Nothing is public unless you make it public, and a profile page only exists if its owner turned it on. How your tracks are kept private.
- Is my music encrypted?
- Yes. Everything travels encrypted between your browser and us, and your audio is encrypted where it is stored. It is not end-to-end encrypted: our servers read the file to draw its waveform and measure its loudness, and nothing else.
- Could someone steal my track?
- Anything a person can hear, they can record, so no service can honestly promise that. What we can do is make it hard: nobody finds a track they were not sent, a link plays with no download button, the pass to the audio runs out after a few hours, and you can turn a link off whenever you like. Send unreleased mixes to people you trust, and turn the link off once they have heard it.
- Do you own my music, or train AI on it?
- No. You keep every right to what you upload. We only store it and play it to the people you share it with, and we never sell it, license it or use it to train AI. A track you delete is deleted straight away.
